Hi, everyone! I'm Sheila Marie Lane, but you can call me "Celli." This is one of three home pages I maintain. This one started on my school account, so it's a little more academic. The second has more about my interests and hobbies. I recommend it if you're a television fan--I have a lot of stuff you might like. You can get there by clicking on the cat.
The second is for more miscellaneous stuff. I recommend it if you like puppets. :) You can get there by clicking on the frog (yes, it's an inside joke, and no, I'm not going to tell you what it is):
This is the Line Around the World. It's an effort to get people all around this beautiful planet of ours to be nice to each other. And while we're at it, we might as well meet other great people on the World Wide Web. The way it works is this: A list is being kept, in exact order, of people who've registered to be part of this line. Each person connects to the people in front and in back of her/him on that list, forming one long line around the internet But the great part is that all the people who include themselves in this line are honor-bound to go out of their way to perform an act of goodness. This could be anything from giving 5 dollars or more to the charity of your choice to making lunch for the homeless man out on the corner to complimenting everyone you meet for a month. It's different for different people, but all these people want to do something to make life happier and better. If you might like to join, simply click on the line for more information.
I'm an English major, and you can probably guess that two of my favorite things to do are read and write. I love words, and the way they're put together, and I really love to repeat them to other people. Here are some of my favorite quotes from all over:
As I said, I love to write. You can read some of it, or just find out the kind of things I write, by clicking on the book.

I would like to be published someday. Here's an option Dickens never had-- FictionNet, an online publisher.
My minor is Theatre. I've always wanted to be an actress, but...well...let's just say I'm a better writer. I really started writing as a playwright. I've also studied Shakespeare and Stage Combat.
In addition to English and Theatre, I've been given the chance to take some classes outside my discipline through the USD Honors Program. Those classes have sparked an interest in some very unusual places and subjects. One of my favorite classes was about Canadian Politics. Another was on Native American Law.
Because of my involvement with the Honors Program, I was encouraged to apply for a Fullbright Grant. I submitted a plan to study for a year at The University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. I was just informed that I've been approved for the next level of consideration, but I never made it past that level. Still, it's an honor to be a finalist...
I graduated in May. If you'd like to see my resume, email me and I'll send it to you.
If you want to look for something I haven't mentioned, here's a Starting Point search form:
